EDUCATING A HIGH SCHOOL GIRL

First of all, we would like to inform you that Kenya does not fund high school education. Each parent must pay tuition and all living expenses to give a child high school education. This is the reason many children end their education at primary (elementary) school due to lack of funds to educate them in high. We have been following up a story of a young girl who was violated, got pregnant and had a baby. This girls mother died when she was a baby and her older sister was about 9 years old. Their father abandoned them and eventually, the older sibling being a child herself ended up taking responsibility for the young one who ends up violated and with a baby. This young mother (15years old) was, has been placed in 9th grade through the efforts of the older sister who was not able to attend high school due to their situation. When we were approached to help with the baby in this situation by the child welfare officer, we decided to follow up this young form one (9th grader) and find out more information. We found out this older sibling is doing what she can to raise money and not being educated can not find a job to sustain them but is taking one day at a time with help of well-wishers. We have decided to educate this young mother by paying her tuition and up keep (living expenses) so that her focus can be studying instead of how she is going to survive or when she will be forced to drop out of school.  We also are going to minister to her and her sister providing spiritual and emotional support to support their healing from the abuse they have gone through since their mother died leaving them as young children with no one to lean on. We will also foster a healthy relationship with a baby so that when she is done with school, she and her baby are in a good place and having a good relationship. Kenya is a very shaming society and when a girl has a child, they are treated extremely poorly ever after. This girl has gone through so much without a mother to support. Please keep this girl and many others in similar situations in prayer. Blessings.

Happy new year everyone. We have great and exciting news.  Our home for orphans in Meru Kenya opens soon. We visited Kenya in summer of 2017 and finalized with registration and opening of the account for the Heart Cry Organization. We found a house for rent that is appropriate for children. Our organization has been in process of renovating this house at the owners expenses. It is close to being completed. Please check the loving home page for photos. Our board members continue to meet quarterly for planning and prayers. Our Second annual gala is scheduled Friday April 20th. Information is available on our gala tab. Please plan to join us  and support this great mission.  Have a blessed week and month.

September 9th, 2016.

This is the first board meeting since we got fully registered in Kenya last month. What a happy meeting we had. We spent time in worship and thanksgiving to God for keeping us going after a long awaited time.  We started this registration in September of 2014 and has taken two years process to finally be fully registered as an non-governmental organization in Kenya. The board has faithfully continued to meet approximately once every three months regardless of the long wait to pursue our dreams. Praise God for calling each one of us because it is the only way everyone stayed committed. The last meeting we had together, we spent it in prayer praising out to God because we were getting weary. God is so faithful, He moved things around and today was celebration. After worship, we spent time in planning to continue our outreach into the community.

SOME IMPORTANT DATES

We plan to raise money to help us start our first home for orphans and the casted off children. We have an estimated date of opening our first home planned for March or June of 2017.

We plan on having a fund raising gala on Friday, April 28th, 2017. We are excited to be taking this step forward to the dream of making a home for our children. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. God bless you.

August 24th, 2016.

Today is one of the happiest days on our journey. We received an email from Kenya informing us that we are now fully registered in Kenya as a non-governmental organization. We started this registration back in September of 2014 expecting it to take few months, it has taken two full years. But all in God’s timing, we are ready to be persistent and continue. Through God all things are possible!

January 12th, 2016.

Happy 2016 and blessings to you all.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support the vision of this ministry in any way, thoughts, prayers, and financially. May God meet your needs as you continue to advance His kingdom as well as His will.

We had planned to open our first home this month of January 2016. We are fully registered here in Minnesota and going through the registration of a sister organization in Kenya. We had been promised complete registration by the first week of December 2015 and were hoping to open my loving home this month no matter what may come our way. There is a delay going on with registration in Kenya due to issues related to other non-profit organizations in Kenya. Towards the end of November last year, the committee in Kenya received a letter from the registration office informing that our registration is in progress, which is very good news. We are still waiting and will inform you here as soon as we know more. For those who follow news and those interested, you can check the Kenyan news in regard to non-profit organizations for general news.

We urge you to continue praying with us as we look forward to taking our next step together. Thank you for your continued support, and God be with you!

Friends and supporters of City’s Heartcry Ministries,

This past Saturday, we had an informational meeting where we introduced the vision and goals of our ministry. It was a very successful day, and we thank each of you who were able to spend that time with us in support of the ministry or in spirit.

We are asking for your help to spread the word about City’s Heartcry Ministries to friends, family, and businesses as we continue to seek funding for My Loving Home. We are 6% closer to opening the home in January of 2015! This is a one-time cost, and we are seeking those funds to ensure the monthly cost of rent or a mortgage payment for the home. We are also 20% funded for the budgeted monthly cost of operating the home. We are hoping that you would like to donate on an ongoing basis in addition to helping with the original opening costs.

All the information to donate is under “Donations” in order for you to set up monthly payments or a one-time donation. The address is also on the website under donations if you would rather donate by mail. If you would like to commit to an ongoing payment by check, it would be helpful for us if you designate your commitment in the notes area of the check. We will be working on upgrading our giving opportunities in the future, but we need your help now, and we thank you in advance for your time, support, prayers, and/or monetary donations.

Blessings to you from the City’s Heartcry Ministries Board.
