Joy graduated high school in November 2019. The school year in Kenya is as calendar year. In spite of extreme financial hardship, at her beginning of high school, she had a B-!!! Which means she is joining the university in September. Since Joy is over 18 years old, she requested to help out at loving home while she waits so that she can raise some money for College. Thankfully, there was an opening and instead of giving it to someone else, we offered it to Joy. she is currently working at Loving Home and waiting to join the university in September of 2020.
In Kenya, being invited to the university is basically achieved by getting high scores in the final high school National exam. unfortunately, many smart girls drop out of high school due to poverty etc, and there is absolutely no make up test. If it were not for City’s Heart Cry Ministries stepping in for Joy, she would have ended her school in form one/9th grade. Also, parents have to pay for all of high school education and those who can’t afford, it is the end of education. Your donations are transforming lives one at a time. Thank you.
